Usually people respond to posts much more quickly on here. Of course Prius is not a performance car, so there's not going to be much feedback in terms of which bar performs best in racing conditions on a track, especially when it takes a great deal of expertise to differentiate handling as relates to one specific component when so much fine tuning is involved in making a car go as fast as possible on a race track. These type of aftermarket products in this instance are going to give you pretty much the same results and are all way overpriced... If you have access to a drill press and band saw for metal, or better yet a whole machine shop you could make one of these out of a nice solid chunk of scrap steel and it would cost nothing other than time. It'd be a great opportunity to make some beautiful art for under your hood. But maybe you'd rather just pay couple-hundred bucks for pre-made?
If it is the 951 540 ALHD model, it is the one that you want. I have attached the install manual from CUSCO. View attachment 162091
There was someone on here about 5 years ago with a machine shop who made various sway bars and they were twice as strong and half the price. This particular one above doesn't look as strong as the other ones, but a good start... I remember there was one under the vehicle that Toyota made a particularly cheap job of fabricating that people noticed the most difference from. But maybe it was a plate in the middle and not the whole bar on front and rear? Can't remember Also there's the Japanese version of Toyota Racing Design (TRD) website that has the most design options in one place if you know anyone who's good at reading Japanese... But it's probably mostly for Gen4 Prius now... But maybe there's not much difference?
Maybe I can convince the gf to put one on her gen2. . She loves my rear sway. She says, '' I don't have to grab the oh sh!t bar!".
Rear bars are rediculous on the gen 2. I swapped mine for a stock Corolla. Huge difference and junkyard price. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
