Tesla model 3 is the number 1 best selling American made car in the US and #4 overall,(within striking distance of Honda Civic). The Japanese automakers can no longer ignore the trend for BEV vehicles in the US and worldwide. They should really be concerned when the $35K model 3 is introduced later this year BREAKING: Tesla Model 3 Is The #1 Best Selling Car In USA From An American Car Company | CleanTechnica
that would be a good time to begin the concern but i would be currently concerned about vehicle sales and economic slow down
I disagree. Tesla is now starting to export the model 3 to the European market where there is initial demand for around 200K+ vehicles. Elon has played his marketing cards carefully to maintain sales for the immediate future. Just to be clear, the subject article is for Q4/18 sales only. However, demand around the world will remain strong and grow because a well priced BEV with a worldwide supercharger network makes so much sense. The FUTURE is here.
Maybe in electronic consumer goods like Apple high end iPhones, but not in cars. They are now the largest auto market in the world. The movie industry now makes films concentrated to the China market; lots of action and violence with very little in depth or complicated culturally specific plots.
Yeah. Because before Hollywood started doing this the movies had so much depth and plot development that they were truly classic pieces of art more than cheap entertainment </sarcasm> (Yes, Richard Gere claims China won't let him be in any movies) Mike
China has a far reaching vision of the future. We still look at returning to coal and the internal combustion engine. The subsistence farming Guangzhou Province of yesteryear has become their silicon valley with the most modern and technologically advanced robotic manufacturing facilities. Their 2025 technology plan is phenomenal. We, on the other hand, use tariffs, a throwback to the metropole country methods of centuries past, to move backwards hoping to revive the relationship of third world colonies of the past. Just today, they landed a rover on the far side of the moon, relaying signals off of a lunar orbiting satellite.
wonderful, but has nothing to do with their economy, or how many teslas will sell there in the next few years
Not true. Everything affects everything else. It's not a one entity or country wins or loses. The tariffs were intended to even the "playing field" in the US's side. If you hurt China, it hurts the US. China's economy slowing means our economy and the economies all over the world are slowing. Trade is integrated and interlocked.
agreed. slowing economies everywhere will hurt autosaves everywhere. some companies will survive, some may not. a company you think is healthy may suddenly show signs of serious issues heretofore unknown. same with economies. there's no predicting. but tesla cannot count on china sales to prop them up if sales here slow, at least, not guaranteed.
Movies could be made of the 1949 to early 1970's, 100 million Chinese BROTHERS, SISTERS, CHILDREN & BABIES murdered, tortured & starved to death by the communist chinese (always small letters). Yeah, get that thru the communist chinese(always small letters) censors.
One who dwells on the past wrongs of earlier generations will relive the wrongs of the earlier generations. The UK, Japan, Germany and every society or country all have earlier generations that have wronged others. The current generations are not the same as those in the past. We should learn from history so that we will not repeat those mistakes; not to make the same mistakes again.
That would be a matter of perspective. That could be said of some.........ahem.............democracies.
That's what people said about the Camry............................oh wait, the Camry had no pre-orders.
