My wife often complains that her (passenger side) seat belt locks up such that she can't lean forward to adjust the radio volume or HVAC settings. When this happens the only way to get the seat belt to loosen is to unbuckle, reel the belt back into the reel, then pull it back out and re-buckle the seat belt. My drivers side doesn't act like this. Any ideas what's causing this?
Does your wife fully extend that seat belt when putting it on? You can try putting the seat back so it doesn't fully extend (leaves less room for backseat passengers)
Thanks for the ideas. I explained this possibility to the wife and she sounded like it may be what's happening. It's been worse lately and that's probably because she has to pull the seat belt out further to accommodate our heavier winter coats needed now. I ordered a seat belt extender so she doesn't have to pull the belt out so far to get it buckled.
