I have a 2 year old Optima Yellow top battery that was in my 2010 Prius I no longer have. I have no use for it but it's still under original warranty and I wondered if there is any market for used batteries? I've never in my life bought a used battery, but then this is a $237 battery so I do not know. Thoughts?
Savvy buyers would show up with something like a Solar BA5, for testing. As a seller, if you posted a pic with the battery hooked up to such a device, displaying the Cold Cranking Amps and verdict, might move faster. Who knows.
It’s not a Prius battery per se, rather a 12V battery with a certain CCA rating that fits your car. I would buy one if it was cheap. Thing is even if you want to recoup 50% of the price you paid, it’s still going to be $100. Most new 12v batteries sell for $50-100.
