Rear calipers twist in type?

    I'm going to need new pads and rotors id say in 30K or so. Anyone know if the rear caliper is the twist in type or a standard push in piston?

    How many kilometers has your car done - I'm hoping that mine last the life of the car - when I asked at last service, they said negligible wear at 40,000kms.

    Wow. My 2008 Prius had 120,000 miles and brakes were not even close to needing pads.

    Well I guess I'm being very conservative. I'm at 70K miles with 6mm left in the back. So I guess I would need then around another 40-50K

    No mention of pad thickness - I'd be checking what the new ones are - but this shows rotor thickness:

    FWIW, our (original) fronts are currently around 6mm remaining, at ~80K kms, and I would change them, at the latest, by 3 mm. So probably around 140~150K kms, at the most. Maybe a lot more stop and go?

    Regardless, every 3 years or 48K kms (30K miles): full inspection.

    If TOYOTA specify 1mm minimum - I reckon that'll do me - TOYOTA are conservative. I suspect mine will go to the wrecking yard with the original brakes - as will the vast majority of PRII.
