Hello and thanks for any future help! My fiancé has a 2007 Prius with the sks functionality. After a traction battery failure and replacement at around 200,000 miles the car began to unlock/lock remotely itself as if you were using the sks but regardless of how close you are not. We will be sitting at dinner with the car parked down our driveway and still hear it go off. It is driving us insane! Lol. I have replaced the batteries in the fob, which didn’t affect it at all. Also, we have turned the SKS system off entirely and it still continues. Sorry if this is a newbie topic or easy fix but any help is much appreciated!
The sks shut off is the key information provided. So it's not sks related. It's just the button on the keyfob being pressed
Got the replacement fob “case” off of amazon and switched the guts over to the new one. Works great! Thanks everyone for the help!
Make sure you switch over the RFID chip, most people miss this when they switch things over. It's the chip needed to start the car in the key slot
I'm new so cannot start a new thread. My 2009 gen 2 Prius frequently locks spontaneously, even when the key FOB is in the car. Very annoying when I set my purse on the seat then go to open the rear hatch and the car locks with my cell phone and key inside! New key FOB batter and the 12V battery replaced last year. Any ideas?
Have you checked the voltage on the fob battery? If it is 2.9 V or less replace the battery It takes a CR2032 lithium cell. Check the voltage on the new battery, don't assume that because it is new it is good. A new battery should be 3.3 - 3.4 V if it is good. That's the only thing I can think of at the moment.
It happens with both keyFOBs, and we have checked voltage. It's a weird problem, I admit. I'm wondering if the car has a sensor that is going bad. But I don't know anything about sensors in the Prius or any car.
