New poster here. I've used this forum for research in the past, but never found a need to post. I've got a 2004 Toyota Prius with 256XXX miles that I bought when it had around 200K miles on it. Minor repairs in the 4 years I've owned it, but nothing crazy. Recently started firing a big red triangle, Check Engine light and Exclamation Point warning when driving at high speeds (60+). The codes pop on the dash, my cruise control and A/C turn off but otherwise there is no difference in driveability. When I turn the car off and back on, the A/C and Cruise work fine again and the car runs and drives fine. The Exclamation Point code goes away on the first restart but the other codes stay on for 4-6 restarts and then turn off until they fire again. I got the codes checked at my local AutoZone and the only code they got was a P3056 (Battery Current Sensor Circuit Malfunction), which I can't find a ton about online in general, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place. I also used a Veepeak ODBII dongle and Dr. Prius to do a battery check and got the below P3030 error code as well. This looks to be an issue with the wiring of the HV Battery? Do the two other codes matter (CA930, P6073)? I couldn't find anything about these two online. This is my daily driver, so I'm still driving it to work daily with no issues other than the lights firing occasionally. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any recommendations as to what it is likely to be? Do I just need to take the vehicle apart and observe the battery connections to start? Thanks in advance! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Do the codes fire off every time you drive it, or intermittently? Have you hit anything or run anything over? Any recent maintenance or damage? Lived in Wichita for 3 years (our in Monarch Landing). Good luck and keep us posted .
The codes fire intermittently, typically when I'm driving 55+ mph and running my A/C and Cruise Control. Seem to fire when the car gets hotter. Stay on for a few starts and then go off. They haven't fired during my normal 20 minute commute to and from work, but I don't exceed 45 mph during those. Haven't hit anything that I know of. Recent maintenance includes getting the A/C recharged 2.5 months ago. Nothing else and no damage. Not sure exactly where Monarch Landing is, but enjoy Wichita! Thanks for the opinions! Definitely possible. May just need to open everything up and take a look. Maybe the problem will clearly show itself. Just haven't taken all that apart before, so trying to do any planning ahead of time. Thanks! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Northeast side and next to Andover. If the codes are intermittent, it could be a wiring issue. If you just got the ac recharged 2.5 months ago, what caused the gas to leave? Good luck and keep us posted .
The problem is coming from the battery pack area You need to opened up the pack and take a look. Take a look at the various harnesses, especially for the battery sensor on the pack for failed ones.
