Short of me putting my spare on both the front and rear of our Prime, any idea if my spare in my 2009 Matrix Base will fit the Prime?
I've got a hunch yes. I believe that's 3rd gen spare size (IIRC), which is nearly identical OD to stock tire, and I'm using Corolla rims of that era for snows on our 3rd gen.
That's what I was thinking. They're all very close generations with Toyota doing the TNGA, I'd have to imagine most vehicles in that size range utilize a similar wheel...
They’re the same. Just remember the tire is now 10 years old, so not a youngen . When we bought our Prime in April, I found a spare from a 2015 Prius for $40. Probably cheaper than you could buy a replacement tire for the rim.
I've been looking for replacement temp spare tire for our daughter's 2010 Pilot: prices are extortionary, and availability near-nil.
When you find one, I hope she doesn’t try to run the tread off of it like she did the current one. I’m sure you explained what “temporary” actually means. Good luck on the Easter egg hunt .
Fair point! But I still would rather limp on the 10 year old doughnut than a slime filled factory Prime tire... I took the spare on a little road trip, and luckily didn't need it.
