Replacing bad cells (2, with voltages less than 7.0 volts) with decent used ones (7.6V). Once cells are aligned, cannot get front backing plate in place to bolt them back together. Need 1/4 inch reduction to get plate in place. Any ideas?
Reassemble with the battery standing vertically; by removing the two plates and four rods from the metal housing/tray. Once assembled, gently (because its heavy) place the now compressed and bolted battery back onto the tray (or battery housing/metal case) and secure the two (2) tie down nuts on the opposite corners and the module screws underneath. Don't forget to reattach the temperature sensor on the bottom of the battery.
