Hi everyone, recently bought a prime and i noticed this weird device by my hood release latch. It has a single button on the bottom of it and seems aftermarket. Mind you I bought this new from the dealer. Just doesn't look normal to me, and there's a cable that goes behind it, i thought maybe it was plugged into the OBD but nope the cable goes somewhere back behind all the plastic.
Congrats on the new ride!! That really does look aftermarket. Is there anything like a port installed or dealer installed doohickey listed on the Monroney sticker or the bill of sale?

This is a Karr alarm: KARR Auto Security | SWDS Usually installed by the dealer to protect their investment.
Interesting, i checked my friends prius prime and his had it too different color but identical. The car still has its own built in alarm system right?
