I got a gen 3 with 120k miles on it. At around 50 mph I get this humming sound coming from the back. I dismounted the left wheel and brakes to see if anything was out of the ordinary. Made a little video of what I found. Nothing is touching the disc. It shouldn´t sound like this right? Anyone knows what the rattling sound is?
Well it doesn't sound right but that could be any number of things... Finding the source of the sound will define how big of a concern it is? Can you give us more info about where the exact place the sound is loudest?
Wheel bearing failing? The caliper mounting bracket is incredibly rusted. The front face of the rotor has slight rusty zones towards the outer and inner edges, suggesting not quite full pad contact. How does the rear side of the rotor look, similar?
I managed to go out the door with shoes from two different pairs. Just the once. Hey they were very similar.
You've been trying to live that one down for a while haven't you... Maybe you could blame it on PTSD from when the beautiful lady inspired you to use your foot to stop a car from rolling?
