Yeah I've seen that one before, it's a pre-production something or other? This phenomena is the latest "tail fins". Along with the magic smoke entry and exit ports you see on most car "bumpers" these days. The main beef I have with these displays is the stupid-distraction factor: they can get you killed.
In EV mode your current city power consumption is like 144wthr/mile but with the new touchscreen it jumps to 300wthr/mile. Well worth it.
