Hi Prius folks, Firstly, I don't know the correct name of the part. It's the O-ring that's on the hose that leads into the air assembly, you know, the box with the air filter. Is that the air assembly? Anyway I want to take it out so I can clean the throttle body, but I'm sure if I take the screw out that's on the o-ring, it's going to break. The car is running pretty well for 165,000 but I thought it would be a good time to clean the TB and MAF to try and keep things running smoothly. Do you think there's a generic clamp I can use, or should I go for the same type? So far the only one I've found is on ebay in this link: Toyota OEM Air Intake-air Hose Clamp 9611110880 for sale online | eBay
O rings are usually made of rubber, but from your description, I think you’re referring to the hose clamp, made of metal, that connects the engine intake air hose (no. 1 air cleaner inlet) to the air filter housing (air cleaner assembly). As shown in parts catalog Figure 17-03, Air Cleaner, this has Toyota part number 96111-10630. The list price for a new clamp is $4.60, so it’s probably not worth finding an aftermarket alternative.
