I was doing customizations with the Carista OBD-II app (e.g. beep once in reverse, one key fob press opens all doors, etc.) One of the settings is: A/C compressor noise reduction Enabled / Disabled Obviously this has something to do with the A/C compressor noise, but any idea what it is changing to achieve a noise reduction?
Well ddduuuuuuu..... compressor noise! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Because some people want more noise!!!! Not making fun.... only a joke...
I wonder if it’s something to do with Eco mode? (How Eco mode reduces the max electricity consumption threshold of the compressor which I guess in theory reduce the max fan speed and this reduce the noise.
The Repair Manual (more info) has a list of all the settings, under Introduction: Repair Instruction: Customize Parameters. “Noise and Vibration Reduction” is a “Function to change speed of the compressor when item is on” (emphasis added), and the default is OFF.
So it's like a fart can muffler for your AC? All the kids are going to be disabling it on their pimped out Prii!
