I have had this issue with my 2012 Prius C for a while. When using the AC or the front defroster (because apparently that uses the AC compressor too) I can hear a strange, intermittent sound from the vents. It is difficult to describe but it sounds hollow and metallic, almost like bubbles of air moving through the refrigerant lines. When I turn off the vents or the car, the noise continues for a few seconds before slowly stopping. I've checked the sight glass under the hood and it looks fine. Recently I test drove a 2016 Prius C out of curiosity, and found that it makes the exact same noise. The noise is kind of annoying, so I was wondering if anybody else here has experienced something similar or has any ideas how to fix it.
It never happened the first year or so of owning the car. It doesn't sound very normal either. But maybe it is normal? That's why I'm asking here.
Dang dude, I gave you a golden opportunity for a hilarious punch line to make everyone laugh and you turn it into a false claim of an attack? Seriously dude, you gotta stop hanging out with @sam spade 2
I see your feeling a little "Trollish" tonight Camper? Its all good - you should have seen me on Twitter today. It was a "snowstorm" of snowflakes... I had too.
Most important part is checking in with yourself after you're done... If you feel worse then you did it wrong. If you still feel pretty good and have more energy rather than less, you did it right. Also lowering yourself to other's low levels, name calling, deleting or blocking people, that's against the rules! Of course it's always fun on twitter to report Nazis who don't know they're Nazis yet and then find out later that Twitter deleted their account. That always makes my day... So many people who think they are only GOP but walk and talk like a Nazi.
Pretty good chance it is normal on a Prius. I get the same sound sometimes. Once good thing to know is that you may be hearing noises that you hadn't heard or noticed before. Kinda like a song you heard 100 times before but then notice a new sound.
