Tesla's traditional competitors have a two-front problem: (1) good EVs need $mart engineers, and (2) good ICEs need $mart engineers. Bob Lutz once claimed Tesla was doomed because EVs lose money and Tesla can't absorb the cost from a price increase of ICE vehicles. The two-front problem of traditional manufactures is bleeding their profits. Tesla has captured the high-end, performance market, a previous 'cash cow' for traditional manufactures.
