The reason I ask is because I was just thinking that it has likely been months since I signed up for Toyota email updates at - @TOYOTA ACCESS and I have yet to get even one email update.
Thanks, I didn't get that, I wonder if certain Toyota's emails are restricted to specific regions, since I'm in the southeast and our region don't get the incentives on the "Prius Prime" like some other regions do. That's a good reason I was hoping Toyota might actually send out an occasional email with news about any updates on the Prime like maybe a projected date on Android Auto availability.
I never signed up or opt-in at the site you mentioned, but I get at least 2-3 emails from either directly from my dealer or from Toyota.com. Most of them end up in the trash.
I get generic sale deals emails occasionally from the dealer, not specifically to me, just ads they send out, but I have yet to get even one email direct from Toyota. Now when we ordered our 2020 Prius Prime from the factory in Japan thru the dealership (actually the dealership sends the order to the regional office and they send it to Japan) our salesman said it would take about 90-120 days for delivery, but said he would keep in contact with us by phone about once a month whether there were any updates or not, he has called us for the first month, likely the first actual update we will get is when the VIN number is available. I was hoping Toyota would also send out news about updates to the Prime and not just promo emails, you would think news emails would go to all regions, but I'm not sure if Toyota even sends out news emails.
I’ve never gotten anything but marketing Even digging around trying to find information on existing cars is difficult. I think you have to go to the ‘new features’ manual
Already posted my previous reply before I saw this post, but yes, finding updated info does not seem to be easy, so since they have an online manual they update with new features I'll have to check it out.
Well, if junk mail is all they send out then maybe I should be glad I haven't gotten any yet (We already ordered our car, so we have no need for marketing emails trying to sell us a car)
Once you buy, there is very little the car manufacturer can share with you . It's not like they can send you "over the air" updates, like Tesla can. If that were the case, then the email might not be "junk".
It doesn't seem to be the case from the replies I got, but I guess I was kinda hoping Toyota might actually send an occasional news update email that might include info like "We plan to make an update available for the 2020 Prius Prime by mid-year to include Android Auto in the infotainment system" …….hey, I can hope can't I ?
I'm not certain whether I've ever gotten anything directly from Toyota related to my Prime, but I do receive a fairly constant stream of emails from my local dealer who is convinced that I am a candidate for financing a new Corolla, in spite of paying cash for my last three Prius/Primes. I also get an occasional email from CarMax via the dealership on my current Prime that is mildly interesting. But what I do like is that awhile I ago I was invited to answer surveys from the Toyota Owners' Intersection which gathers information related to future features and services. I don't know what they do with my responses, and the questions are often peripheral to my interests, but I do appreciate their effort.
Reminds me how we keep getting offers in the regular mail from the Kia dealership we bought a new Kia from in 2015, they kept trying to convince us to trade in our Kia after it got about 2 years old for a brand new Kia, and we're still getting the offers even though it's now paid off, it's like they don't want you to actually own a paid off car, they want to keep you making payments on a newer model, to me that is more like "renting" a car rather than buying one, we just ignore the offers That is encouraging that Toyota seems interested in customer's views as far as future features/services, hopefully they take our views seriously. I can't wait till our new 2020 Prime is finally delivered from Japan !
Heck, I still get offers telling me they want my 2010 Prius on trade-in... from the dealer I already traded it into when I got my Prime. As a database geek, it offends me that their data is so bad.
…..reminds me of some of the robo-calls we get, my wife occasionally gets one saying they can help her pay off her student loan, but the thing is - she has never even had a student loan
