How I can know my Prius is euro 4 or not? it is the 2nd generation from the 2005 year. VIN is JTDKB20U857051892 Best Regards, Elchin from Azerbaijan
welcome! here, we go to toyota.com/owners, plug in the vin, and it tells us all about our cars. see if you can find something similar in your area.
Your best route would be to email Toyota EU and ask them to which Euro standard the Prius Gen 2 conforms. Maybe one of our European users would know. All the best.
Your car’s VIN is in Toyota’s U.S. database, which means that it is all but certain that it was built for sale in the United States, and later exported. If so, Toyota would have officially certified it to meet only U.S. and California emissions standards, not Euro 4 or any other European standard. Look for the Vehicle Emission Control Information label under the hood; if the car was made for the U.S. market, the label should say “U.S. EPA” and “Tier 2 Bin 3,” as noted in the EPA’s Certificate of Conformity (PDF). If that label is missing, check the model code on the label inside the left front door. If it’s NHW20L-AHEEBA, the last “A” means the destination was the U.S.; the last character would be “W” if the car were built for sale in Europe.
