Wait, what? 13 kwh? Then it has to be a plug-in! Surprisingly they do the same routine as our Chrysler Pacifica which doesn't even mention that it has a plug. They just call it a hybrid. Yeah, both mention 30+ miles ev range (though on the USA epa standard, Tiguan will likely only be in the 20's) once you finally get into the verbage, but you would think that "plug-in Electric" would be a major advertising selling point - big bold words, rather than just a little 'e' tacked on to the word hybrid. .
I guess eHybrid is VW's group name for non-performance plug-in hybrids? They have the GTEs (Golf and Passat) as their performance PHEVs. "eHybrid" is used for Cupra (the brand, not the model) but oddly enough, Skoda uses "iV Hybrid" (iV is their electrification emblem)
I think VW hybrids without a plug will be mild ones going forward. If you are paying the extra cost for a full hybrid in Europe, might as well pay a little more for a bigger battery to take advantage of the incentives.
We aren't dealing with an actual gas. The tank could be formed around the spare well. On an unrelated note, came across while looking at pictures of the Tiguan boot. Fit For VW Tiguan Mk2 2016 2017 2018 Trunk spare tire compartment box Miscellaneous storage box modification|Automotive Interior Stickers| - AliExpress It's a clever little storage bin that slips into the center of the spare. It ain't fifty bucks clever, but as someone that has store things like jumper cables in the spare area, I can appreciate it.
