I'll sometimes coast in neutral downhill or for an 1/8 mile to a stop sign(you know, bump up a .1mpg...). Invariably if I do this I get a smell like cat convo or battery, not sure which. Any ideas? I have a couple of hv modules that are just before needing changed out(my first time) and I have the b1s2 o2 code. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
How many miles on the vehicle? How are you reading the OBD2 codes? (device and app or make and model) Coasting in neutral doesn't increase MPG, you need to be in 'D'.
Don't shift to N while moving. Shift to P vs N at a standstill. I'm no Prius engine expert but if I had to guess shifting to N cuts the connection between the HV and drive motor. All of a sudden all that energy meant for the motor has been cut off and instead of destroying all the electronics in your car your battery acts like a cushion/capacitor to absorb it. Probably better check if the 12 V is still healthy. If I'm correct you're cooking it... moto g(7) power ?
