Rear ended but no visible damage

    My prius 2017 was hit by another car at a red light today. I exchanged the insurance information, took photos of the other car as well as the driver.
    My car does not have any visible damages, should I still get my car inspected? And should I contact the insurance company for coverage?

    Get it inspected. Mine had the same 10 yrs ago (was a FORD), with 2 small pockmarks on the Bumper which I would have ignored - but got checked. Cost, from memory, nearly $2000. The bumper support framework was all bent behind the plastic bumper which bounced back, hiding the damage. The $$$ included a new bumper plastic and re-painting it.

    yes i would personally take it in. better safe than sorry. also like a previous poster mentioned, the damage can be hidden. i would suggest you take it in just for the sake of making sure everything is on the up and up.

    YES. Definitely take it in.
    The "shock absorbing" members are behind the bumper and any damage is often hidden.
