Opening the trunk from the inside 2016

    I have a dead 2016 prius sitting in my garage. And the culprit seems to be the 12v battery. I've done my homework and am planning on trying to charge the battery with a battery charger and then get it to the dealership to see if I need a new battery. However....I can't even charge the battery because I can't open the trunk. I've looked at MANY threads and videos on how to open a Prius hatch from the inside but all are for 2nd or 3rd gen and sitting inside my car right now the panel they reference doesn't seem to exist! Any tips on how to do this with a 2016??

    Sigh. Ok. The user manuel has proved unhelpful and everything I've found online is got gen 2 or 3. So, I guess now my question has shifted to--how should I safely use a 12v charger on my prius? And where in the hood does it live?. Any help appreciated!

    Sure about that? Cause it says exactly where it is. This is for the Prime but the Gen 4 is the same.

    Go to the index at the back of the manual to look for the item you want.

    Odd - it's in my copy (got it online from TOYOTA USA) of the USA Manual.
