I changed my engine coolant and the red triangle comes on after about 5 minutes of driving, and then it comes on more and more often the more I drive. Is there an air bubble inside the cooling system that needs to be bled out? Is the engine overheating? What could be causing this? Also, the heat doesn't work either after changing my coolant. I did get one check engine light that had to do with the coolant sensor, whatever that means, but I cleared that code and it hasn't come back. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I'm not familiar with all the interesting oddities of this cat yet... but generally when there is no heat and engine nag lights about coolant, yes there is a bubble. I would search for "coolant bleeding procedure" for your generation of vehicles and apply that procedure. 9/10 times a good bleed is all that is needed
Yes. Here's your confirmation of air in the coolant system after a coolant change ... plus the lights on your dash.
