Probably time for a new 12 volt battery. They're about £100/$150 and are located in the rear under the floor. They usually have a life of 6 years or 80,000 miles/130,000km, so if you're over those figures on your original, then you've done well.
It is not a good idea to keep jump starting the Prius. One wrong connection can do a lot of expensive damage. Replace the 12 volt battery now. John (Britprius)
Yep, get a new 12V battery as soon as possible. Be real careful with your jump starts, you'd be amazed how many people come here complaining about a 4 digit repair bill after they fry the inverter with a failed jump!
Totally agree. Jump starting is not advisable, a simple mistake could cost you a lot. Have your battery replaced immediately.
Thought my battery was dead, even jumped started it correctly, then deaf again. BUT, it was the key fob... replaced the battery and will buy a new case, for without the fob registering the car will not turn over or even think about it.
