I'm a newbie here. My 2011 Prius with 176K on it needs a door replacement due to accident which will cost me $2-2.5K. I'm not planning to claimed it thru my insurance. My dilemma is, is it worth it? The car is ok, drivable but with the scrapes and "hole" in the door, corrosion already started. I stumble upon Dr Prius app and the OBD device which is great except that i dont know how to interpret it. Can anybody please give me an approximation on how long this battery last? I drive 64 miles/day, 4-5 days a week to work. Here's my Dr Prius result. Thank you so much.
Welcome. To answer your question briefly: "Not really." First of all, Dr. Prius offers an estimate, not a promise. 57% for a 10 or more year old car ain't bad. One might guess another 10 years, but that's assuming a lot. How much longer it will last will depend on how bad the performance will get before you want to do something about it. Unless a cell fails early, it's a gradual decline. And on weather and driving conditions and style. Lots of other factors. It's not like looking at the tread on a tire.
still shocked how everyone who uses this app insists on not setting the fan speed as needed and keep their pack above 100F or hotter.
@Grit Can you please point me in the direction how/ where to set the fan speed? Is it bad if the battery is above 100F? I really don’t have any idea about cars and I am trying to learn. Thank you very much.
