Can anyone rec. any places to buy OEM parts and acc. at a discount online? I'm looking for a set of the illuminated scuff plates to start. Places in Canada would even be better. Local dealer gives zero discount.
What I typically do is Google the part number, and also do a search on ebay. There are usually a few dealers across the US at least that sell things at a significant price discount, and that ship.
Try Amayama; I’ve used them several times, no hitches. Delivery about a week to ten days. It’s taken longer during COVID I’ve heard, but getting back to usual now. To minimize shipping charges: try to bundle purchases, and keep them from a single source country. As far as I know it’s United Arab Emirates or Japan only. Website show CDN prices when your in Canada. So far I’ve had no sales tax or duty; just quoted price plus shipping. Prices can be higher, lower, and sometimes a lot lower, even lower than the States. especially with a 2021, safest bet might be to research part numbers in advance (as mentioned above), just search for part numbers on Amayama. Good source for part no’s might be dealerships local to you. Good for price comparison too. they may not have the illuminated door sills, but worth checking. FWIW, I think they’re overkill, non-illuminated would be fine, less complicated, and cheaper. It’s just one more thing to run the battery down, if you leave a door ajar. And we have them, on our 2010, lol: didn’t ask for them, they were on when we bought. Mighta been a sale that fell through. Toyota should supply non-illuminated sills, standard, my 2 cents.
The original manufacturer of my Prius has a brick-n-mortar location here on the main drag a little east of town. They do in fact often discount the parts they sell me, by an amount that compares ok with their counterparts who list online. Sometimes the online listings are cheaper but shipping is added, and I don't pay shipping when I pick the parts up here. They are usually either in stock or boom, they're here the next morning, there's no shipping charge even for the overnight availability, and I think they have pretty stringent supply chain checks in place making sure they're not selling inauthentic parts.
Yep those little buggers are not cheap (~$170) even though I found some of the same for Honda on Amazon for like $60! WHAT? I recently spotted a sweet light bar for the Tundra so looked it up...$998....what the heck???
