I'm about to order a mighty Max 12 volt battery to use in my 2006 prius. It is internally threaded, what kind of terminals do I need to buy with it? This is the battery: Mighty Max 12V 55AH Internal Thread Battery Replacement for Interstate DCM0055 | eBay Obviously, the terminals need to be smaller than regular 12 volt terminals, just like the OEM Toyota battery. Does batteries and bulbs, or another auto parts store like autozone, sell small terminals that will work for this battery?
Not sure about that particular 12v, but I install lots of these: https://ebay.us/vN4JsP A friend ordered one last Wednesday night and it arrived on Saturday. And easiest way to adapt terminal to fit with it is to use slightly longer bolts than it comes with and some big metal washers to sandwich the terminals between it. Here's pics:
That screw is too skinny for the connection port to wrap around. Look at the picture- the positive connection port/wiring harness WRAPS AROUND the positive terminal Are you saying you stack many washers on top of each other, and put the screw through the washers, to create a "terminal" thick enough for the positive connection port to wrap around?
I'm sorry, but I don't fully understand what you mean when you say to "sandwich the terminals between the washers." What terminals are you putting between the washers? The battery doesn't come with terminals, it's internally threaded Can you please provide a picture of what that looks like?
Because this brand makes good deep cycle batteries for RVs had a good price, and I want some extra amp hours to be able to power few electronics if I need it to to while camping
It's so simple it can be confusing... You use the terminals you have in your car and you put a washer on the bottom of the terminal and a washer on the top of the terminal and then put the bolt through all 3 holes. Stated differently the washers are the slices of bread and the terminal are the bacon, lettuce and tomato and the bolt is the toothpick that holds the sandwich together. Also the negative terminal is smaller than positive terminal and I use washers that are only slightly larger than the terminal...
Place washer on battery terminal place the "terminal clamp" on top of washer, centered place another washer on top of 'terminal clamp" install bolt down the center and thread it into the battery Torque to 75 inch pounds? Hope it doesn't come loose
