    Good day all.
I have been having rattling and knocking sound in my engine. Which I have tried every thing it did not stop. Just today I was driving and the car went off. All light on the dashboard came on. I started the car it started but on hybrid battery. Wetin few seconds it stopped again. Now the ready light is not coming on again and I am having below codes.
    P0335, P3147 and C1259
Please what could be the cause of this 2012 prius not starting any more and how could fix it.

    Thank you.

P0335 is a problem with the engine's crankshaft position sensor or the wiring or connections to it. The car needs to know that position to know when to fire spark plugs or there will be entertaining rattles and knocks. That's an issue I would look at first.

P3147 is a code that is set by the power management control ECU, and indicates some kind of issue with the transaxle—one of four different kinds of issue, rather, depending on what the INF subcode is, which Techstream can read.

Regrettably, my TIS subscription is not active at the moment, and I am looking in a downloaded copy of the 2010 repair manual that maybe didn't include the detail section on P3147. It's just not there. Somebody with an active subscription might have to look for the rest of those details.

However, if the engine is running very roughly because of the crank sensor, there could be transaxle effects that would have set the P3147 and might clear up with the engine being fixed.

C1259 is nothing but a code from the brake ECU saying it knows there is a power management control ECU code (the P3147). It will go away as soon as there isn't.

    Thanks for your reply.
Pls I seriously need your help. My location is Nigeria. There are no mechanics here who can really work on hybrid cars.
For the past 2 months, I have been having rattling and knocking sound. With no error codes. I cleaned the whole egr systems, cleaned injectors, changed spark plugs, cleaned throttle body, cleaned PC valve, Cleaned inlet manifold, I have oil catch can installed for about 5 months now. Upon all these, the car is still rattling and making knocking sound. Especially when it's charging the HV battery.
If I drive fast the sound disappears.
My coolant doesn't shot, my engine oil doesn't have water in it but I noticed the oil does shot. So I can't say it's blown head gasket.

And today this new incident happened.
Now if I remove the 12v battery head for 5 minutes and put it back the car starts on ev only after 3 to 5 seconds then car trys to start the engine and the ready light goes off and check hybrid system light and other error lights comes on on dash board.

Is this a sign that my engine knocked?
Will Changing the crankshaft position sensor solve the issue?
    What exactly should I do?
The car has 145,000 miles on it.
The error codes it shows using toyota techstream now are P0335, P0A0F, C1259, C1310
