Got to talking with an electrician today and the good news is I have 400 amp service so no problem adding a charger circuit in anticipation. But then I got to thinking. There are at least three locations I've seen where charger outlets are located on EVs. No standardization? How long are the cables between the socket and the charger? And how long are those between the charger and the car? I asked the same in '17 but no answers.
1) My Juicenet 40 Pro has about 5-6 ft. 2) Stock cable is 24' so I added a 24', J1772 extension and don't worry about it. Bob Wilson
Gas tank fillers are on the right and the left, and even behind the rear plate when I was a kid. ClipperCreek charging cables all seem to be 25ft, which seems to be what most are. The product page doesn't list the length of the EVSE cord though. Most of these plugged EVSE's are designed to be installed not far from the outlet. I think you are just going to have to research the individual brands you are interested in.
i would buy the car first, then install the charger. yes, it may not be the same on the next one, but how likely is the next one? for that matter, how likely is this one?
