There is a lot of buzz about these cars from early reviewers which always lack technical precision: Bob Wilson
What exactly are you saying? There is a comparison between two sedans and two SUVs. Typical aerodynamics of the body styles has the sedan doing better than a SUV. For the Hyundai siblings, the Model Y should be the comparison. The standard range AWD one is rated 120mpge with 244 miles range. Except for being sedans, the Model 3 SR to Lucid Air is not a like to like comparison. The Model 3 SR is RWD and a little over half the Air's range. The Model 3 LR would be a fairer comparison, with 134mpge and 353 miles of range. Even that isn't fair, because the Air is nearly a foot longer. Its Tesla competitor is really the Model S LR. That is 120mpge and 405 miles range. Compare Side-by-Side
Just sharing recent EPA ratings of models that got a lot of buzz from EU reviewers. Otherwise, ignore. Bob Wilson
Look at the real world numbers, one car based on a sample size of exactly 2 owners reports. The other three based on no owner reports. bwilson's comparison was of vehicles that may actually be available in the US. Do the "Korean" makers have a sedan offering?
Screen only shows the EPA values of all. The Model Y and S are available in the US, so a like to like comparison can easily be done.
My interest is vehicle efficiency so when these relatively three new models showed up, I selected them. The Tesla is the most efficient benchmark in the EPA list. Bob Wilson
I don't remember seeing it in the EPA list. There are more efficient 3-wheel vehicles ... one step removed from a 'compliance' EV. Bob Wilson
The Prius is one of the most efficient cars with an engine available in the US, but that means diddly squat for someone that needs a minivan. The Model Y is the efficiency benchmark for BEV crossovers/SUVs. For large cars, it is now the Lucid Air.
