or a gasser, low on gas. what i like to imagine (especially since covid) is companies telling people to work from home when bad weather is forecast, and government requesting people stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary
Having lived in DC, I'm sure that the governments did that. DC isn't like upstate NY in terms of plows etc. Nor is DC. But this was normal traffic compounded by people headed home after New Years. 95 is really the only North-South Interstate in that area and a lot of construction and widening is going on. There was a nice story on the news of a bread truck opening up and giving every car within a 2 mile stretch a loaf of bread.
i've been stuck in that traffic every year since 2004 on the way to florida. even in good weather, it's a nightmare, and all new roads to boot. now i've learned to use the last mens room before the beltway
