Fact Sheet: The Biden Administration to Begin Distributing At-Home, Rapid COVID-19 Tests to Americans for Free | The White House Well, they promised free tests would ship 7-12 days after ordering and it's only taken 18 days, but got a notice my tests shipped early this morning from Las Vegas. They are going to wife in Oregon and the tracking information says have shipped first-class and will arrive by Wednesday. Considering my last experience with USPS packages, we will see... US Post Office -- Not bad -- but | PriusChat I actually ordered them the day before the free test site officially went live, so thought they might arrive quickly....but....
i passed, since we have no use, omicron is slowing way down, and we can afford to purchase if necessary. but mrs b ordered them asap, she loves a bargain
I ordered them a couple weeks ago with no notice of them being shipped. Nearly all the stores were sold out when I needed one back then.
I really don't care about the tests, which is why I ordered them for wifey. I want nothing to do with sticking a stick up my nose. If I feel ill, I will stay home and since it is only myself and the dog, no issue. Of course, I really should (re) retire, sell the house and move down to Oregon with the wife and grandkids -- at least that is what the wife keeps telling me -- but my employer made me an offer I could not refuse to come back to work -- apparently no one wants to work anymore... So, as long as they are paying me my sky-high asking wage...Washington state it remains....of course prices are so high here, it takes a sky-high wage.... In Alabama, I would probably be considered rich....In Washington....solid middle-class
This country's response to Covid has been shameful and half-assed at every step. Myself and many others ordered the day they were available because they're so hard to find... But how many months till they actually arrive? As always greedy rich people have turned a government built to help its citizens into a government re-configured to make a small number of people wealthy at everyone else's expense. So sick of this BS!
Ordered ours on the 18th, a day earlier than the official start. Got a package in a week. Used one already when my wife had a low fever. The result was negative. We stocked up test kits for the Holiday gathering in Dec. Had to pay out of my pocket, but now our health insurance will cover the cost. If we find any at a local pharmacy, we are going to stock up.
Lol... I guess corrupt Louis DeJoy favors the New England states over western states... I've not heard from a single person out here who's got one in the mail.
Typical dot.gov efficiency - or a politically weighted response. I ordered mine on the first hour of the first day that they were available - just in case I were required to have to show proof a negative test to do something frivolous like buy food, or cross state borders. I'm just glad that it's not something that I really NEED or that I do not live in a state that's not on the 'approved' list. People always slag the IRS for their sloth-like efficiency and swiftness but my taxes have been filed, accepted, and my humble refund is scheduled to be deposited tomorrow.......so that kind of narrows down the list of possibilities....
When y'all get yours, check where they are made, our say "Made in China".....you can have ours if you dare sticking these things from China up your nose!! (I'm a combat vet but not THAT brave!!) ;-) Nothing says, "Buy American" like giving $1.2 BILLION to China for tests, huh Beijing Biden (the "Big Guy")??
I'm only a "combat vet" by DOT standards. (as in their 'boss') I DO however have the ignoble honor of having drawn 8 months of combat pay without going into harm's way. NOT counting local traffic or ND's.... In other words......a REMF. I'm thinking that the "Make China Great" giveaway might result in my getting a test AFTER they've already expired..... Warning: Your at-home COVID-19 test expiration date might not be accurate
We do "studies" by the metric butt-ton, and we're pretty good at manufacturing regulations, and horrible politicians.
I think mine will arrive today, according to the USPS notification I just got. Either that or my reloading equipment for 300AAC. (one of these will actually be useful......)
I am glad this post was started. I ordered ours today - we have kids in school and will definitely use the kits. I had to go on a site that looked like it was administered by the Post Office. From what you guys say - maybe 2 weeks to get the tests?
In terms of delivery -- It probably just depends. The items appear to be shipping via the USPS store, which normally ships pretty quickly, but I assume they were overwhelmed by the volume when the floodgates first opened in January, which is why was taking two to three weeks. I also did a separate order for some postal supplies a few day later and they also took three weeks and it usually takes about 7-10 days, so, I imagine now that its been more than a month since they began taking orders you may luck out and get them in a week or so.
