I've not done an engine replacement yet, but when the engine spins for that amount of time and shuts off, that means the engine failed to start and that was just your hybrid battery spinning the engine. And as you might suspect, you have a limited amount of times of failing to start the engine before the HV battery loses charge and can no longer spin the engine.

i realize the Mg turns reciprocating mass all time engine is brought in electrically. so heavy gas is no burnt fuel and theyre no exhaust . engines not firing just turning . sounds good

yeah... I've never smelt much unburned fuel from the exhaust pipe with a Prius that has a broken engine, but maybe someone on here with more experience can help with that?

I know Ice is running .... because ehh manifold warming . Means fire . Whilst running the Amber triangle remains . Looks like no charging is occurring . Foot on gas produces no engine rev . 30 seconds it all shuts off sounds like a clank coming from plate on rear of engine I’m guessing because the way it shuts off . It’s not transitioning properly all the ignition codes gone because all coils and plugs replaced and have fire now . But me thinks hybrid battery is very dead and won even let me drive on gas or ice only like my 09 did . Kinda weird

If the hybrid battery were very dead, the engine would never even spin to start.
Could you check the voltage again, because 240 seems a bit on the high side for an idle battery. It could be that high when being charged, but not in an idle/no charge condition. Definitely not for a dead battery.

P0A0D simply means the safety interlock circuit is open. You'll have that any time the orange service plug is not all the way inserted and clicked over. (There are other places, like the covers on the inverter, that can also break the circuit, but the orange safety is the usual suspect.)

I don’t think he had inverter open I think it was layed over to side cover on . I’ll have a look. I noticed today it is running ice that is . Wen ice shuts off like at a light it slams off like the interface plate between engine trans shudders. And wen I put in D today it actually went I moved car 30 feet wen ice starts or stops I get this clank . Similar to orig HG leak.. me thinks the engine needs warm up it’s been dead cold for probably along time
