I was referring to early IMA Hondas, particularly Insights and Civic with the manual, that let drivers 'lug' the battery in order to squeeze out a few more miles of EV.
Knowing almost exactly how much Battery it takes to get home, I've begun switching to hybrid with 5-10 per cent left, just to get the ICE into a more fully warmed up state when I get home. Hate it when it turns on 1 KM from the house
Sometimes my PiP would start the ICE as I pulled into the driveway coming home from work. Maddening!!!! That's why I got the Prime. Still, I have one common trip in the Prime where I sometimes have to do as you do to keep that from happening.
