Hi guys. I got something weird going on. There is a clock clock noise once in a while when the car is starting up but only when it is NOT moving. I'm wondering if it is transmission. Engine was recently rebuilt new ngk coils/ plugs , injectors, egr cleaned, new dampener. I'm wondering if there could be slop in transmission. Also would like to check voltage to coils. Don't know how to check coil voltage. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Head gasket is new. Head and block was checked for flatness. Should be good. I did it myself. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
2000 miles since rebuild. I just finished cleaning intake with wire brushes. Not much carbon came out. Only started once not moving start was fine. Test drove it. drove fine. We'll see what happens. Rebuilt happened because ring failure was underway. Do not use Royal Purple. Build up behind rings. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
FYI if I fixed the thing that was wrong with someone's cousins car I would fix non broken things then have to fix the actual broken thing. You probably wouldn't believe how many people would come in and ask us to fix something because there cousins sister boyfriends collage roommates car was broken in x y or z fashion. This is the intake you're cleaning? The insides are relatively rough/soft material, difficult to get fully clean. Just make sure it's well cleared out. Brushes, rags and brake cleaner work. I used a mildly caustic solution one time: didn't clean much better, and reacted with the metal inserts; best to stick with brake cleaner for the intake.
