I recently bought a 2008 from which the cat was stolen, where I am I can get by with a straight pipe, but wanted it to be compliant, I found a 46 state compliant replacement for under 300. When clamped, it does seem that it would hold, the instructions refer to some mystery "sealant" in a caulk type gun, neither of which was included.
