Hey, so I buy crashed or mechanically damaged prius pretty frequently and fix them to sell. I have a 2012 prius with 160k miles and had a bad head gasket and the previous owner decided it was a good idea to cut the inverter harness and main engine harness in 4 different spots for insurance money im guessing. I installed a new engine and engine harness but kept the harness from the inverter to the fuse box. I joined all the wires but the car will not start and im getting a "check hybrid system park in safe place" on the dash and a consistent U0110 code. The harness coming out of the left of the inverter has 4 different blue wires and no numbers to correspond with the harness. What are my next steps? Im going to go over my wiring connections to be safe. Before the car would not shift out of park but after the new engine harness and engine the car goes into neutral now.
Hmmm... Seems like wires aren't hooking up as planned or inverter is bad... Are you saying the wires were cut in these places and the inverter wasn't removed? Or the wires were just cut/vandalized and car has all its parts? If the latter, maybe the damage happened when car was power up and it shorted out the ECU / Control Module?
The code you've got does indicate an inability for the power management control ECU to communicate with (I think) the MG ECU that's inside the inverter assembly. That probably does have to do with the wiring connections that got repaired there. If you noticed that there are multiple wires of similar colors, then the repair has to be done by following the wiring diagram, unplugging the connectors at both ends of the circuits in question, and using an ohmmeter or continuity tester to confirm that you're splicing the right ones.
