We are the second owners of our 2012 Prius v Two with 152k miles on it. This past Sunday the 12V battery finally hit bottom voltage of 11.23vdc and we were just barely able to get the car to restart and make it home. I ordered a new Toyota battery from a nearby dealer that day for pickup Monday but it was going to be up to five days before it came in so I went to NAPA and got one. Pulling out the old battery after hooking up an old motorcycle battery to the fuse box to save our presets, I read the OE battery manufacture date April 2, 2012! Now that’s what I call a good battery. Over 10 years and 150,000 miles in service. So is that a record or does someone out there have one that lived longer? I wish I could say the same for our brake booster which went out at 149,740 miles and three months past the car’s 10 year in service date. Toyota absolutely refused to assist us with the repair.
I may breeze by your battery record, but I'm cheating: (Only doing about 3k kms yearly, it’s pretty much constantly on this charger.) What was the bill on that one? BTW, that's not rodent nest material? Just been a while?
GM did that to me with a 60k/60month at 3 weeks over with 40k on a transmission! Their response was literally “tough luck” (that is really what they said). I told them “5 brand new GM vehicles in 10 years? I will never own another one!” And I haven’t! That was 28 years ago.
congrats! i think there have been a couple 2010 and 11's, but not positive. my 12 went our after 6 years, 4.4 volts.
The dealer quoted something outrageous like $4000. We took it to a well respected Toyota specialist shop who did the work plus some other items for about $3200. No, not rodents. My wife is an avid gardener and volunteers at a park planting native species so she treats the Prius like a pickup. People don’t believe how much she can load into it. We call it the truck.
