Hi all. I want a spare remore key fob for my 2007 1500cc 5DR Hatchback Prius. Quoted AUD 550 by dealer - unreasonable. Checked aftermarket prices AUD 80 to AUD120. Bought one from China described as MOZB31EG Key Remote Control for TOYOTA PRIUS 2004 -2009 312MHz Key. Using the open/close door technique I can program the new key from the existing key to start the engine but I cant get the key to lock/unlock the car doors, nor can the Toyota dealer or a local locksmith. Can any one offer advice please? Is 312 MHz the right frequency for the transponder in Australia as I've seen 315 MHz and 434 MHz quoted various places. Please note I have searched various earlier Prius chats but found nothing to help me. Regards Locke.

That's a good question but I've seen these little boxes on my Gen 2 which I guess is what you have which have the megahertz number on them for whatever their correspond to I have to go out and look at this one car that I keep open and I can go right to them and I can tell you.

I think the white box with red label in this picture is the Reciever for the SKS system. Maybe the frequency is printed on the label? It is located under the rear floor board area.
    I THINK

Thanks Tombukt2. No relation to the 312, 315 and 434 MHz we talk about for the fob transducer then?

I don't honestly know much about all those megahertz and gigahertz ranges for whatever they might be remember we've got TPMS sensors at least in some cars in the States and they broadcast on one of those vans then you've got the key fob to unlock the doors and I see an orange labeled black door control unit that does not have any radio frequencies on it so I'm guessing the stuff comes in on the whatever I posted the 100 something megahertz That's all I can see that would seem to be those two devices one being up close to the glove box I mean to the back of the console and one in the very rear opposite side of the battery 12 volt I guess that gives you fob the coverage it needs to get around the car or something like that I don't honestly know but those are the only things I see with radio frequency on them then there is one in the trunk but I thought that was for the TPMS sensors is that 311 I think
