Speed in reference is my day during cars of the 1970 's to beyond Has me realize how warped the reference of speed has become In recent years autos have become very fast . My Gen 2 is considered slow But my view is Really they are not . What I see is it's a car that will deliver what is needed More like a Zip power . For necessity they deliver . Very competent auto
I had many types of cars Fast Cars are like as fast as your mind can think . The Gen 2 is like Swoosh speed as you think you Swoosh . Not a huge difference in the full punch , compared to the mild prod of the peddle . With due respect in the upper range over 80 there is a feel of imminent danger real in any car but the prius has the feel that One Mistake OVER they are a little squirrely . What I find unique of the Prius or the nature of a Hybrid & CVT they are like a switch On / Off you pick the speed . ICE motors have a sweet spot they edge up to the horsepower torque power curve (as per gearing ) The Prius along with the variable automatic transmission requires not much more then 3/4 inch push & off she goes Like Dirty Harry "Do I feel lucky?"
