Get yourself a dual camera system ( 4k front and 1k back) with parking mode. I have this for the Prime. These cameras paid for themselves about 1 month ago when the wife got involved in a hit and run on the highway. The other car hit her car, the driver and passenger got out started yelling at the wife threaten to call the police, and when she said go ahead they got back in their car and left. We called the highway patrol, gave them the plate of other car and video footage of the front and rear cameras. Called our insurance with the same evidance and in about a couple weeks the other car's insurance wrote us about repairing/paying for damages. Two hundred dollars well spent. Now we don't have to pay the deductiable on our insurance. I still need to find out if the other driver was arrested and charged.
Sorry I don't have the full install instruction, but it's not hard. For power, I just tapped into one of the fuses in the fuse box on the driver side and hide the wires along the headliner and weather seal on the driver door. Here's what I got: Viofo a129 pro duo
If that's an Amazon link, they don't show for some people, specifically if you've got an ad blocker (almost necessity for this site). Can you please type the name, model number, whatever you've got. Or a screen-grab of the Amazon description. Thanks.
Southern California: hit-and-run capital of the US It is a felony hit-and-run if there is an injury or expensive damage.
No injury, but may need new bumper which will be $2-3k. This is why I installed cameras on all my cars.
Yeah, probably more. Your insurance company wouldn't pay your deductible for hit-and-runs. I am glad the guy was caught.
