"Security" is the latest magic word used to panic people: TicTok - bans Tesla cabin camera Credit Bureau hacks Any computer billing hack Browser cookie scraping VPN fear, loathing, and sales I am getting a little tired of over reaction to ordinary practices. There are so many opportunities to have your personal profiles compromised, some have entered the world of 'silly': Bob Wilson
It's kind of hard to know what you're actually talking about, as I can only see one GIF of a fainted woman, and one broken-image link that's probably of a silly walk. But maybe sometimes "over reaction to ordinary practices" is simply reaction too late to have stopped those practices becoming ordinary.
And I am getting more than a little tired of people who don't realize what the potential problem really IS. I avoid "apps" like the plague because you are just inviting people with unethical business practices into your "home". And even if you implicitly trust the business and that trust is justified........try to remember that the apps are really created by one or more individuals who may NOT be so trustworthy. Better safe than sorry.
Cellphone security is a personal responsibility. Just I see too many complaints about “security” with no details. What data is exposed and why is it important? By important, how can it be abused? Bob Wilson
Meh. I'll save the smelling salts for those who think that out of the 1,100 thousand Teslas that have been made, THEY have the ones that the folks back at the mothership want to monitor. I'm told by the EVangelists that the model 3 has 8 cameras. (EDIT: another EVangelist with 'skin in the game' corrected this to 9.) No matter. If you don't want to be featured on Elon's funniest home videos? Don't do stupid junk while your car is watching. I'm reminded of people who put tape over their PC's webcam....and then take their smartphone with them into the restroom....
My 2019 Model 3 has: 3 - forward cameras 4 - side cameras, two rear and two down pointing side 1 - rear camera 1 - cabin camera That makes 9 cameras that we know of. I also have a dash cam that in the past I mounted to seat head rest as a forward facing, cabin camera for the display and windshield. Bob Wilson
