Hi! When I’m on a sharp right turn at entry to highway, I hear a clicking sound under car. Similar tinny sound I heard when a small part needed to be replaced after catalytic converter was replaced. Service manager will be doing test drive later this morning. Doesn’t occur during similar turn to the left. Any ideas? Thanks!
Agreed. That is exactly what my 08 sounded like. A visual check of your CV boots might find a ripped boot. Check for grease being flung all over. CT winters and age of car suggests that as well.
Well. If you CV Axle is toast then it is toast. It will continue to work as long as there is grease in the joint. Once all the grease has been flung out it might seize. This could take awhile. IMHO you could drive it for another couple months... Just listen for the clicking. It should get louder and louder.. the worse it gets. After Market axles are like $80-$100 pretty easy to install. maybe 1.5 hour of labor?
They examined CV joint. No tear or grease. Maybe beginning stages of a problem. Also not a wheel bearing sound. He’s suggesting for now that I wait to see if noise changes. He knows I’m waiting for a new car and have this road trip to take.
