I just bought a 2005 prius non running with 145,000 miles. Had a new key made and hybrid battery replaced and it would start but gave codes PA093, P3000, and P0A85. Replaced the inverter water pump, 12V battery and hybrid battery blower fan.(I cannot seem to get the fan to turn on but I heard the battery needs to heat up for it to turn on.) Replacing those cleared those codes but now I have 28 new ones. The car will not start unless I clear all codes then start the car. After a few seconds the ABS light comes on along with the red triangle but it will drive fine for around 5 minutes then the check engine light will come on and the car will not move at all. Again I have to clear codes but it just repeated itself(the code for the engine is P0A90, drive motor “A” performance) when the battery was replaced I verified the battery was being charged by the car. On the screen there is the hybrid system warning light. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. (Cruise control also doesn’t work)The codes displayed are (ABS, U0073, U0123, U0126, C1310, U0124)(AC, B1412, B1421)(Cruise Control, P0AA6, P3000)(EPMS, U0121)(Engine, U0293)(Hybrid Control, P0AA6, U0111, P3000, U0100) P0A90
I will include pictures of all the codes, any help is really appreciated.

Do you have the old HV battery that was swapped out? It most likely is the new HV battery you have that's the problem, probably a leaking module in there

    Hello and welcome to PriusChat!

What scan app and device are you using? I ask because some devices can disrupt data communication when plugged into the car. That can result in many "false" Uxxx series comm error codes.

Also, it would be very helpful if your app can retrieve freezeframe data and INF sub codes. INF codes give more information that narrow down the possible fault. In particular, P0AA6 will set a "general HV isolation fault" INf 526 on the first attempt to ready the car. On the second try it will set another INF that directs you to whatever the ecu thinks is the problem - be it HV battery, inverter, etc.

If you can't access INF codes, then here's a review of several scantool spps and devices- some of which can.

FYI your first 5 posts are moderated.

I don’t have the old battery, I had some guy who runs a business rebuilding hybrid batteries come and replace it with a rebuilt one, there’s a warranty on the one he gave me too. How would I be able to see if there’s a leaking module?

I just ordered the Nexas Nexlink Bluetooth scanner and will get more info on the codes using dr.Prius and the Autel MaxiAP200 apps on Wednesday when it arrives.

AFAIK, the Autel app only works with the (matching) Autel device.

i just got the scantool and using the Dr.Prius app got the codes P0A2B, P0AA6, and P3000.
I tried overriding the battery fan after installing a new one but it wouldn’t turn on. I could hear a relay or switch from the back when I tried but the fan would never come on. I have pictures of my battery voltage too. Should I get another scantool that will give me more information? If so which one?

The P0AA6 (HV isolation fault) will prevent you from starting the car again once you turn it off. It can be 'cleared' either with a scan tool or by disconnecting the 12v battery, and you'll be able to start the car again. As mentioned, it's most often due to the HVbattery having some electrolyte weepage making contact with the case, or an internal crack in one of the modules allowing electrolyte to contact the mounting screw.

It can also be caused by any other part of the HV system becoming damaged and losing its insulation value, but usually it's the battery..

    Update-
I looked at the fuse and wires for the battery fan and it all checked out, I checked for voltage on the fan connector and when disconnected from fan it will get 13V but the second I connect it to the fan it drops to 0. Any idea to why this happens?

Based on your list of codes, you have much more important things to look at than the HV battery cooling fan circuit.

It would be like a soldier with a chest wound and a stubbed toe, and the doctor decides to work on the toe first.

Do you have anyone available who has Toyota TechStream software to do a health check on your car? It would be the most accurate.

    I do m
I do not but I can get it to the dealer and have them read the codes.
