I had a flat tire and used the sealant. It didn't work great, as most of it got spilled out during plugging the bottle to pump. Still it did sealed the plug so that I can drive and repair. I am looking for either a full replacement i.e., both air compressor and sealant. I am open for a non-Toyota option as well. Can someone please offer some recommendations. Much appreciated.
Just do a web search for "slime repair kit"; should be around $30 - $50 bucks. Whole new set, including pump, but it may not fit in the Toyota cut-outs. A cheaper option is the pressurized can stuff - Not recommended. The cars interior gets really hot, hate for the thing to leak or explode, inside your car.
@Sid786 , I prefer this one since its easier on a tire repair tech (no MESS) - On amazon do a search for "B001DIECCK" Order an OEM replacement - Do a search for "42606-47160" and look for the link to that part on the toyota parts deal website. or go with the earlier mentioned aftermarket tire slime kit (also found on Amazon) - "B0166BVK28"
Is the slime kit worse on the pressure sensor compared to genuine Toyota sealant? Q2 Why does it expire so fast? Q3 Can you make a DYI sealant refill ? Q4 Can you just use the slime sealant refill and pour it into the washed empty Toyota container that is left after I used the sealant inside it?
