Did front brakes now all kinds of warnings on the dashboard lit up that are ABS related.. The backyard mechanic that helped me broke the speed sensor somehow on the left front but codes still stay lit after I replaced the sensor with a part from Rock Auto (but not the dealer because the dealer wanted $300 for the part).. No luck, it did not solve the problem.. I scanned code at AutoZone and I get code C1406, C1349, C1210... The reomendation from AutoZone computer is to "perform zero point calibration".. I have been trying to search how to do this, but having no luck for a 2019 Prius... The left front speed sensor was visible broken so it was indeed damaged... I'm totally stumped after researching all night.. Please help..
Check the first post on this thread: DIY 12V Battery Replacement Add'nl Info | PriusChat By zero point calibration, that’s steering zero point calibration, likely. That comes up after removing the 12v battery to do the brake job. I think all the brake related DTC can be cleared if you know that there’s no error or problems there other than perhaps the battery was not disconnected and the caliper pistons were pushed back or otherwise the line pressures were released during the brake job. Another one is, if the brake pedal was not slowly depressed a few times to seat and build up the pressure before reconnecting the 12v battery after the brake job. Any change or loss of brake line pressure the system will freak out.
Does your ... there indicate there were other codes? Sometimes we can offer better help if you put all of the codes in the post. Has your research included looking in the repair manual? Toyota Service Information and Where To Find It | PriusChat Sometimes we see posts that mention lots of time spent researching, or lots of incomplete or contradictory or unusable information found, and it turns out to be people had ruled out searching where the right information is, and had only looked everywhere else.
There were 3 codes from the Autozone scan tool printout which suggested the zero point as a remedy... There were no codes before the brakes were done..
I don't have a repair manual.. I looked up every video and many websites.. I also contacted Scotty Kilmore a mechanic online who makes Youtube videos... He said I should reset the codes since I replaced the part that was broker (the speed sensor) but I'm unclear on how to do that with this model.. I was hoping to get help here...
Did you resolve your issue as I am also dealing with speed sensor front passenger side with c1464 from techstream apps which trigged traction, abs light on? Once I cleared the c1464 code, the abs and traction lights go away. I replaced speed sensor with $20 one from rock auto but no success. I dont know if I should buy it from stealership for $290. Please advise. (prius gen 3)
