I have a Prius 2023 delivered this month and I am a bit disappointed with the options I'm missing. 1. From what I can tell the digital key is disabled so I can't register one. Dealership said that it was disabled in the NL for all Toyotas. 2. The onboard navigation is in miles while the whole of the EU is metric; did not see any option to change it anywhere (changed in liters and kilometers for fuel usage). 3. The phone charger is missing too; while it's not a bit issue I did not expect that. Curious if there's other people from the EU here and what features they have or not. I have the plug-in hybrid executive, the middle tier.
The excuse I'm hearing is that the pandemic messed things up, and they are still scrambling to get the cars manufactured and sold. Some of the design work was a bit sketchy.
Yes, EU versions don't include the digital key support, or the phone charger. They get lots of other stuff the US doesn't though. (Generally a good idea to look at local brochures and spec sheets, not foreign ones, to avoid disappointment). I think you probably just need to look a bit harder for the units setting. Can't remember where it is, but mine's not showing miles.
The navigation system managed to switch to metric by itself most likely via an over the air settings update as I didn't change anything; there is no option to switch between metric and imperial that I could find. One other thing that seems to be missing is the Traffic Jam Assist. Besides this it is a really nice and fun car to drive; looking forward to a lot of km/miles with it.
I found a setting in the car settings that let me choose metric/Imperial/American units. Handy when crossing the border as we do.
If I get around to it, I'll post it here. I'll take photos in case they fix the posting problem. I'm sure it was in the TOYOTA app under settings.
