The relay is there for a reason and it would be a bad idea to jump around it. Find the actual problem and fix it.
No, the hybrid control system has self tests that specifically check function of the contactors every time it goes to ready up. If something doesn't function as expected, the ecu will shut the system down. You can find decent looking used parts on ebay $20-40 or so. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Still can’t get this car to move. Now I’m not getting 12 volts to transmission ECU. On the connector 1 is supposed to be the b+ and I’m not getting any power. Used this diagram. Any other way to check for open connections.
There are a whole bunch of inconsistent translation "errors" in Toyota's service information. The industry standard definition of "B+" is battery voltage (12V power) that is present at all times. The diagnostic procedure has you test a circuit that only should have 12V present with "ignition on" condition. (that's not a B+ circuit in my book, usually called ign+). The manual also refers to the transmission control module (TCM), the "P" position control ecu, (and I think P-Lock somewhere else). That said, if you do not have "12V" present at the TCM connector pin1 (blue wire) while the car is powered to "ignition on" state, then check a connector in the underhood fusebox. Right behind the red battery jump start point is a black plastic cover. Remove it and separate the white connector. The blue wire supplies ign+ to the TCM and "often" corrodes. Yes I did some reading and already checked that pin. I’m getting 12 volts with the connector on and also checked on the pin itself and also getting 12 from there. The 12 volts are getting lost somewhere between that connector to the transmission ECU connector
