Title pretty much says it all, about to do a combustion leak test on my 2012 Prius (iii), and the kit I got didn’t include a pump, it came with a line fitted with a tapered plastic tip meant to be plugged into a vacuum hose… anyone suggest a logical spot I can tap into fairly easily to test my head gasket? not gonna lie, not looking forward to this… no startup hammering or anything like that, but I’ve had a small amount of coolant vanish on me recently and she does have 240k+ on her. last EGR cleansing ritual performed like November of 2023, about 20k miles back. thx in advance all for any pointers as to where I should grab vacuum from..
I had this exact same problem in our solar roof JBL car that was staying in the wind We got it with 160 on it at about the mileage you're talking about some coolant vanished and we looked and did a bunch of testing the car was running perfectly. I filled it back up and the car ran without a hiccup to 394,000 mi just before 395 it started to rattle daily and the car is parked and it will still rattle etc but I've just put it to the side I don't think it's going to get fixed she's now on a generation too with half the mileage. That's all the roof car we could do a head gasket and all that too but inside of the car and some outside issues just deem it not worth it.
