I believe this to be the original battery, you can see the type below the scanner, it doesn’t look like what they would replace it with at the dealer, but it doesn’t necessarily look like common replacement brand. Anyways, 317,000 miles, I’ve driven it six years and over half of that mileage. Have access to all of the service history before me. Could this be a 10-year-old battery, wow. iPhone ?
If the car is driven daily the 12v battery can Ready the car with very little capacity remaining. Since there is no high current starter load they can last a very long time. Then you have sudden death syndrome - you drive the car to the store only to find a dead battery when you return to the car 15 minutes later. If you are lucky you have a lithium jump pack accessible without opening the dead hatch door and your wife or tow driver knows how to enter the car with the mechanical key, access the jump point under the hood and start the car. Even if all that works, you miss the Toyota battery sale and overpay there or buy an aftermarket version at Autozone.
